Why Seek an ADHD Assessment?

ADHD can present in a variety of ways, including trouble staying focused, impulsivity, emotional fluctuations, and difficulties at school. These struggles can impact a child or teen’s self-esteem, relationships, and academic performance. A professional ADHD assessment offers clarity by helping to explain confusing behaviors or school-related issues. It provides insight into how your child’s brain processes information and opens the door to individualized strategies and meaningful support. Rather than simply assigning a label, the goal is to empower your family with understanding and direction.

What to Expect

Our ADHD assessments typically begin with a thorough interview with the parent or caregiver. This is followed by time spent with your child or teen for observation and testing. Standardized questionnaires are often completed by parents, teachers, and—when appropriate—the young person themselves. Depending on the situation, additional screenings for co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, learning differences, or depression may also be included. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a detailed feedback session along with a written report containing clear and actionable recommendations.

After the Assessment

Once the evaluation is complete, you’ll be provided with a comprehensive explanation of the results. This includes whether your child meets the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, as well as insights into their specific strengths and areas of difficulty related to attention, organization, and behavior. You’ll receive tailored strategies to support your child at home and at school, and guidance for next steps, which may involve IEPs, 504 plans, or therapy referrals. Our aim is to ensure you leave with a deeper understanding and a clear sense of how to move forward with confidence.
