Dr. Jacqueline Sherman

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist serving residents of Florida. I have extensive experience working with adults and couples in various settings including hospital medical centers, private practice, college counseling, community mental health, and the prison system. I have received specialized training in substance use and addiction disorders, completing a yearlong postdoctoral fellowship focused on treating people struggling to break the control substances had on their lives. A great deal of my training and experience has been with veterans and military families. As a proud military spouse, I am deeply connected to serving this population.

I completed my Ph.D. at the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (VCPCP). During my time at the VCPCP, I taught psychology of sex to undergraduates, was a project specialist on a HIV grant, and presented research at national conferences on race-related issues. I am also an alumna of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) where I earned a Master of Science degree in Community Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

In practice, I focus on working with individuals and couples to navigate unhealthy beliefs/patterns and help you to create a more balanced and fulfilled life. My approach is non-judgmental, collaborative, interactive, and compassionate. Through this process, the goal is for you to gain clarity while feeling heard in a safe environment. I apply various scientifically researched techniques and modalities to my practice including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, emotion-focused, and person-centered therapy. If you are ready for a transformation, I am here to help and empower you. I look forward to working with you soon!
